CAVALERA! CAVALERA! CAVALERA!

In 2023 Cavalera Conspiracy rerecorded Sepultura’s debut full-length album “Morbid Visions” and the EP “Bestial Devastation”. A year later, Sepultura’s second full-length album, “Schizophrenia”, was also rerecorded, marking the trilogy’s completion. In December 2024, Cavalera Conspiracy announced that they would be bringing the “Third World Trilogy” Tour to the United States with support from Necrot and Dead Heat.

What’s amazing about the lineup of this tour is the balance between all three bands in relation to each other. On one hand, we have Dead Heat, a band one would categorize as a Crossover Thrash Metal band mixed with hardcore influences. On the other hand, we have Necrot, a Death Metal band with punk influences that can be heard tremendously, judging by the drumming style. Cavalera Conspiracy is the culmination that brings it all together from thrash to death with an unyielding groove. Here’s a summary of how it went down in Boston, MA at the Paradise Rock Club.

Dead Heat

Formed in 2016 in Oxnard, CA, Dead Heat was the first opening act. Right away the energy emanating from this band was intense. The speed, the catchy riffs, paired with volatile aggression spoke volumes to the crowd. Hardcore dancing and moshing abound, with no end in sight. Dead Heat’s style closely follows Nardcore, a hardcore punk movement from Southern California that emerged in the 80s. It encompasses thrash, speed, and crossover and also fuses skateboarding culture.

Some notable songs performed include “Pay the Toll”, “World at War”, and “Hard Reset”. Below are a couple of videos demonstrating the overall ambiance of Dead Heat’s performance.

Their complete set was very enjoyable and a perfect opener to get the crowd warmed up and ready to welcome the next band, Necrot.

Necrot

Formed in 2011 in Oakland, CA, Necrot was the next supporting act. Within the last decade, the band has released three full-length albums and has made their mark in the US Death Metal scene. Next year, they will celebrate fifteen years of existence with a consistent lineup as a three-piece. Their set consisted of a balance between their last two full-length albums, “Lifeless Birth,” and “Mortal.” Some notable tracks that were performed include “Drill the Skull”, “Stench of Decay”, “Your Hell”, “Cut the Cord”, and “Lifeless Birth”.

During their set, many of the concert attendees were not only moshing but there were many crowd surfers filled with animation and delight. As previously mentioned, the band’s lyrics make Necrot interesting, in addition to their unique Death Metal sound. It is evident that the band plays from the heart, and when reading the lyrics, one can see and feel the underlying message that’s deeply connected to the extreme genre of uncompromising Death Metal. Below are a couple of video excerpts of Necrot performing the ending track of their set titled “Sinister Will.”

Cavalera Conspiracy

The time has come, and after Necrot performed, Cavalera Conspiracy graced the stage. The power, the glory, what the crowd has witnessed is history in the making. From start to finish their performance was electrifying to the max. The beauty of their set consisted of songs not only from “Schizophrenia”, but also “Morbid Visions”, and “Bestial Devastation”. The trifecta to rule them all, leaving the crowd speechless. Witnessing Cavalera Conspiracy performing these songs live takes the individual back in time to the early beginnings of thrash, the carefree nature, fast and sleek tempos, aggressive riffs, where all one can do is thrash til death! The nostalgia can be felt in the air and the crowd was very elated, and left in a rhapsodic state. So far in the year 2025, this tour is stated to become one of the best tours of the year. This is a tour where one just has to be there, and no video out there does it justice. Be there, no exceptions.

Some notable tracks include “To The Wall”, “Black Magic”, “R.I.P. (Rest in Pain)”, “Escape to the Void”, “Troops of Doom” and many others. The Cavalera brothers are back, the heart and soul of Sepultura lives on forever. CAVALERA! CAVALERA! CAVALERA!
